HESITATES AND DOESNT FIND ANYTHING

I can accept that MAYBE my iPod (3rd Gen/64 Gb) is too "old", but this app is SLOW!!! Every letter I type hes...i...tate...s. And all of my searches have yet to be matched. I began with "it was the best of times" from A Tale of Two Cities, but this app found no match. I then selected the play "As You Like It" and patiently typed in "all the worlds a stage"...but it didnt find a match. What am I doing wrong? It should be the best (app) of times!!!
