Bartlett's Familiar Quotations App Reviews

The problem with many reference apps is that they rely too much on search and allow for leisurely browsing. Not so Bartletts Quotations, which allows browsing by author, publication, subject, and even occasion—need to write a wedding toast? It gorgeously designed, thoughtfully organized, intuitive and a pleasure for word lovers. At $0.99, its a bargain. It gets this librarians seal of approval!

I got this on sale, but I would have paid full price for the app after playing with it. As a librarian and former English teacher, its quite fun and handy.

Its the perfect app to have if you love to read. It has some if not all of the greatest quotes in history just in this app alone.

A great collection of quotations, well-organized in a very usable application. Highly recommended.

A large portion of the quotes are boring and irrelevant. The search function is inadequate. Im usually very happy with free apps. The fact that I paid for this one makes it even more disappointing. Im wondering if my two star rating is generous.

Giant waste of money. Not able to search quote by phrase and not complete listing....just SELECTED quotes. If there was a zero star option, I would give it a zero.

The new version crashed on opening even after I deleted and reinstalled it.

If you remember a few words or phrase, forget it. The search function will not help you find the quote. What a disappointment this app has turned out to be.

Adios until you tweek the bugs some more. As a writer I depend on this great app heavily.

Good app...if it opens more than after the first time. Search engine needs improvement (topics available to search).

I look forward to the daily quotes each day and I had saved some as Favorites but with the new update all my saved quotes on my phone are gone and the app keeps crashing on my other device. I hope future updates dont result in saved quotes being deleted because I was very unhappy having lost some really good quotes I had saved.

What a tease! I get top of screen notifications of the quote of the day, but cannot access the app without having it crash. Please update ASAP! This is terrible service for a paid app.

I loved this app but as several other reviews noted I crashed under the current iOS. This has been going on for a month or so now do obviously they dont care. The question is why??

This would be my favorite app (no really!) if it werent for the fact that it crashes every single time I open in. EVERY TIME! I dont have money to burn and this app want cheap! Im at my wits end, and my heart is full of sadness right now.

I used to use the application daily for quote of the day, as well as research. It has been unusable for at least two months, if not more. Can you please update this application?

New version is a pain! Someone needs to fix it. I have been using Bartletts since I bought my first hard copy 40 years ago. I tried deleting and reloading but to no avail. When daily quotes come up, the screen goes back to the main after a few seconds and nothing stops it from happening. Im removing the app till you fix it.

Why has no one fixed this?!? I love seeing the daily quote, but now have to write it on a piece of paper to make it a favorite. Sad.
